Southport Cares Officially Launches—
We are proud to announce the launching of our new non-profit, Southport Cares. Our mission is to assist the victims and citizens in need that we come across through police, fire or medical calls, or in the delivery of our duties and services. Our mission is also to come together as a community to let the victims know we are there for them in times of need. This is a united effort between first responders and the citizens in our community.
Our donations go towards specific initiatives to help people that have been impacted by a police, fire or medical emergency call in Southport, or go towards some of our related programs such as Shop with a Cop, Child Safety Seat Program and Burned Childrens’ Fund. We are a 501c3 with no overhead or salaries allowing every dollar to go directly to the worthy causes.
We look forward to working with you – our local community – to band together to make sure people in need know that our entire town is there to lift them back up.
March 1-31, 2020
— March Child Car Seat Drive
During the Month of March we will be doing a drive to collect brand new child car seats that can be used for people whose current child car seats fail inspection or are damaged in a motor vehicle accident and do not have financial challenges to replace that seat. The seats must be brand new (please bring receipt) and in the original unopened container to ensure the seats we are giving meet current safety standards.
Our Child Car Seat safety Inspection is currently scheduled for April 4th from 10am to 12pm. It will be held at Southport Fire Headquarters
